1. Visa categories and types
2. Depending on the purpose of entry of foreign citizens into the Russian Federation and the purpose of their stay in the Russian Federation, visas of the following categories are issued to the foreign citizens:

– diplomatic (DP);

– service (SL);

– ordinary (О);

– transit (TR1 or ТR2);

– temporary residence visa (VP).

27. Depending on the purpose of entry of a foreign citizen into the Russian Federation and the purpose of his stay in the Russian Federation, the ordinary visa shall have the following varieties:

– private (CH);

– business (D);

– tourist (Т), including group (TG);

– educational (U);

– working (R);

– humanitarian (G);

– for entry into the Russian Federation for refuge purposes (А).
